MONTHLY MEETINGS
Learn how to remain safe in your neighborhood. Come out to the monthly informational sessions where the police and city officials educate us on maintaining public awareness and safety.
Attend one of our monthly meetings on the second Thursday of every month at 7:00pm. Due to COVID-10 protocols, large gatherings are postponed until further notice.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Calling all neighbors, potential sponsors, and public officials to donate your time, your services and finances to support the efforts of the Sanford Place Block Association & Friends Inc. initiatives. Engage the community to unify and protect each other's person and property.
We need your help with some tasks to keep our organization running and to serve the community. Volunteer as little or as much as you like. Great experience. Training provided.
We Need help with:
Block Captains: Ellery and Eastern Parkway
Create, copy, or pass out flyers
Secretarial duties such as file, schedule and set up meetings, minutes, correspondence (calls, emails, letters)
Create or contribute to newsletters
Website and social media contribution (photos, videos, articles)
Grant researchers, writers
Fundraisers
Event volunteers
Photographer, videographer

"Where every block that touches ours is safe and sound" has been the mantra for our community since the inception of our block association.
A Sanford Place Block Association & Friends 2021 community survey uncovered that our residents have safety and blight challenges with their homes. Many residents do not meet City of Newark income requirements to qualify for assistance. They are also not able to cover costs of extensive and needed repairs, nor do their ages and abilities permit them on their own.
Your gifts matter. Your partnership matters. Your participation matters. The safety and wellness of our community depends upon them.
